Revelation of the Gospel :: The FULL Gospel is based on 2 seemingly conflicting ideas

1. It’s all about you

Jesus will leave the 99 to come after the one. He died for YOU.

The Parable of the Lost Sheep is one of the parables of Jesus. It appears in the Gospels of Matthew (Matthew 18:12–14) and Luke (Luke 15:3–7).

[Romans 5:8]

God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

[II Corinthians 5:21]

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

[I John 4:10]

This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

The Slippery Slope of living this as your main understanding of the Gospel = Narcissism and entitlement

Can lead to thinking God works for humans.

2. It’s not about you

[Luke 9:23]

Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.

[Galatians 2:20]

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

[Philippians 2:5-7]

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

6 Though he was God,

he did not think of equality with God

    as something to cling to.

7  Instead, he gave up his divine privileges;

he took the humble position of a slave

and was born as a human being.

[Luke 9:46-48]

An argument started among them as to which of them might be the greatest (MEGAS). 47 But Jesus, knowing what they were thinking in their heart, took a child and stood him by His side, 48 and said to them, “Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me; for the one who is least among all of you, this is the one who is the greatest (MEGAS).”

[Luke 9:57-62]

As they were walking along, someone said to Jesus, “I will follow you wherever you go.”

58 But Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head.”

[Luke 22:24-27]

Then they began to argue among themselves about who would be the greatest (MEGAS) among them. 25 Jesus told them, “In this world the kings and great men lord it over their people, yet they are called ‘friends of the people.’ 26 But among you it will be different. Those who are the greatest (MEGAS) among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant. 27 Who is more important (MEGAS), the one who sits at the table or the one who serves? The one who sits at the table, of course. But not here! For I am among you as one who serves.

Slippery Slope of this way of thinking leads into shame, worthlessness, insecurity

Low view of God that he’s really hard to please.

The Full Gospel

We build on the gospel, we don’t move on from the gospel.

God sent His son now my sin is gone

[I Corinthians 3:10-11]

Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ.
