In the Bible, God gave some people "new names.” What would you want your new name to be and why? (These can be characteristics, something funny or even just a favorite name)
MESSAGE NOTES
Your Trauma does not have to have the final word!
Pain - everyone has pain
Suffering - is the meaning we make from our pain
Trauma - suffering that sticks
Perseverance - Stick to it anyway
Character - who you really are
Hope - It is going to get better, Jesus
Scripture Reference:
Romans 5:1-4
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope.
John 14:27
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
John 16:33
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
James 1:2-4
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
