ICEBREAKER:
If you could have only one super power, what would it be and why?
MESSAGE NOTES:
[John 1:14]
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
[Colossians 1:15-16]
Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, 16 for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.
[II Corinthians 8:12-14]
Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have. 13 Of course, I don’t mean your giving should make life easy for others and hard for yourselves. I only mean that there should be some equality. 14 Right now you have plenty and can help those who are in need. Later, they will have plenty and can share with you when you need it. In this way, things will be equal.
[II Samuel 24:23-24]
I will give it all to you, Your Majesty, and may the Lord your God accept your sacrifice.” 24 But the king replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on buying it, for I will not present burnt offerings to the Lord my God that have cost me nothing.”
[John 13:34-35]
So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. 35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
[John 15:12]
This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.
[John 15:17]
This is my command: Love each other.
[Romans 12:10]
Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.
[Romans 13:8]
Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another.
[I Peter 4:8]
Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.
[Proverbs 19:17]
If you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord—and he will repay you!
[II Timothy 4:14]
Alexander the metalworker did me a great deal of harm. The Lord will repay him for what he has done.
[Ephesians 6:7-8]
Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. 8 Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do…
