The Satellite Prayer | How Do I Know God's Will?

Main Verse:

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is- His good, pleasing, and perfect will.”

- Romans 12:2, NIV

Main Points:

1. Turning to God’s Word is the primary way for us to get a look into God’s plan, purpose, and will.

2. The Spirit living within Christians also helps to illuminate to us God’s will; being sensitive to the Spirit’s guidance is indispensable!

3. By being transformed from our old fleshly selves into our new spiritual selves in Christ, Christians learn to look towards God’s mission and consider how to keep the flesh out of the way.

Action Steps:

1. Study the Scripture every night this week, and follow each session with prayer.

2. Listen for God’s guidance and instruction.

3. Obey and go!

Questions:

1. What does Christ have to say about understanding God’s will? Can something about this be learned by Jesus’ own actions?

2. In what way do Peter and Paul approach the issue of God’s plan, providence, purpose, work, and will? How do these teachings translate to 2019?

3. Are there things you are letting keep you from having with God? If so, how can these be removed and a new focus be placed on communion and relationship with God?
