New Family | Revival
Main Verse:
“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”
- Romans 8:14, NIV
Main Points:
1. We no longer belong to the old family – a family condemned as guilty – but belong to a new family who stands in the saving grace of Jesus.
2. Jesus accomplished this for all mankind in a way that no priest under the Old Covenant could; Jesus gave Himself as a blameless and perfect sacrifice on our behalf.
3. In this way, those who are born again are born into this new family as sons and daughters of God, brothers and sisters in Christ.
Action Steps:
1. Pray to God for clarity about the nature of this new family (the Church).
2. Listen to His guidance and study Paul’s exploration on this very issue.
3. Obey and go!
Questions:
1. In what way was the Old Covenant effective? Why was the Law given if, as Paul says, it stood as unable to save us?
2. What does the Old Testament context say about the nature of Jesus and His role?
3. What does it mean that we are the temple? What does it mean that we are sons and daughters of God, brother and sisters in Christ?
